Before I started writing books I contributed around 150 articles to a variety of magazines including Classic Car Mart, Practical Classics, Sports Car Classics, Classic Motorcycle Mechanics, Real Classic, Classic Tractor and Classic 999. Topics included workshop techniques, road tests, restorations and opinion pieces. Below are a couple of images of 2cv related items that were published at the time.
A six part series was written for Practical Classics on restoring a 2cv. The car was pretty rotten but there is no use in choosing a good one for a magazine rebuild.
This is how it ended up. Non original colours but inspired by the Cassis version which uses a slightly darker blue.
Another poor specimen was chosen for a 9 part restoration in Classic Car Mart.
It was completely rebuilt in 1 month which was a similar rush to the preparation of the Bounce Around the Balkans car. It was then taken to Belgium where this photo was taken in freezing February then on to the Retromobile in Paris.
The final 2cv related piece was a feature on Daz Hill's Special in Classic Car Mart.
